Your UMS user account is used to access system-wide technology services such as Brightspace, MaineStreet, and UMS Email. It is also the root of your @maine.edu email address. Your UMS user account may also be referred to as your UMS ID.
Before using your UMS account, you need to activate it. To do this, you'll need your MaineStreet ID (also referred to as your EMPLID or Student ID) and your Activation Key.
Active Account
If you’ve forgotten your password or are using your UMS account for the first time, you’ll need to activate it. To do this, you’ll require your MaineStreet ID (EMPLID or Student ID) and your UMS User ID (username)."

To change your current account password, you will need your UMS User ID (username) and existing password to proceed
