For 60 years, UMA has been part of people’s lives across Maine.
This milestone belongs to you. You’ve helped shape it along the way.

We’ve come a long way. And there’s more ahead.

Tell Us Your Story

UMA has been part of your life.
We’d like to hear about it.

We’re collecting stories from alumni and supporters about what UMA has meant in their lives, their work, and their communities.

What changed because of your time at UMA?
What did it make possible?

Your story helps show what this university looks like in real life.

Support UMA Students

Students come to UMA at all different points in their lives. Some are just starting out. Others are returning, advancing, or changing direction. They’re here to move their lives forward.

Support from donors helps them stay on track, finish, and take that next step.

Stay Connected to UMA

60 years ago, UMA started in a single classroom at Cony High School.

Today, we serve more than 4,300 students across Maine and beyond. From the beginning, we’ve worked to make college possible for more people. That’s still what we do. That work continues every day.

Follow along as we share stories and what’s happening across UMA.

What Comes Next

The way people learn and work is changing.

We’re continuing to adjust how we teach, support students, and stay connected to what Maine needs.

Education That Fits Real Life

We’re building programs that fit into people’s lives.

That means making it possible to start, come back, or keep going, whether someone is just beginning, returning to school, or moving forward in their work

Innovation, the UMA Way

We’re paying attention to how learning is changing and adjusting how we teach.

That includes using technology in practical ways that support students and keep pace with the work they’re preparing for.

Educating the People Who Keep Maine Running

We’re preparing students for work that matters across Maine.

Our graduates step into roles in schools, healthcare, public service, business, and more. It’s everyday work, and it keeps our communities going.

Hello!

Thank you for making UMA part of your life.

Whether you studied here, supported our students, or stayed connected over the years, you’ve helped shape what UMA is today.

That shows up in the people who come here now, and in what they’re able to do because of it.

We don’t take that lightly.

We’re glad you’re part of it

All my best,

jen cushman
