Celebrating 60 Years of Impact
For six decades, the University of Maine at Augusta has been transforming lives across Maine and beyond—opening doors for learners of all ages and backgrounds, delivering accessible, high-quality education, and building a community rooted in support, creativity, and opportunity.
Join us as we celebrate 60 years of excellence and look forward to an even brighter future.
Our 60th Anniversary Theme
A Tradition of Excellence. A Future of Opportunity.
After receiving input from students, alumni, faculty and staff, this theme was selected to reflect both UMA’s proud history and our exciting future. Over the past 60 years, UMA has provided accessible education to students across Maine and beyond—empowering learners to achieve their goals and strengthening communities along the way. As we look forward, we remain committed to creating a future of opportunity for all.
Looking Back, Looking Forward
As we prepare to celebrate this milestone, we’ll also be sharing stories from our history—moments that have defined UMA and the people who make our community special.
Have a memory or photo to share? We’d love to include it! Send your memory to UMA60@maine.edu and stay tuned for ways to contribute to our 60th Anniversary story collection.
