- In Orono, throughout the month of February, you can attend a range of events celebrating Black History Month at the University of Maine campus.
- In Bangor, on Friday February 24 at either 11:00am or 7:00pm, you can watch Rhapsody in Black, a one-man show on racism at Husson University’s Gracie Theatre.
- In Portland and online, through February 9th to 12th, enjoy live performances, music, and discussions celebrating Black History Month, organized by Maine Community Foundation grantees.

Local Events
- In Portland, on Tuesday, February 21st during 11am-2pm, check out the annual Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Cajun Cookin’ Contest in the University of Southern Maine Abromson Building. You can enjoy free food and music at the event organized by the community radio station WMPG since 1994.
- In Presque Isle, on Tuesday, March 1 at 6pm, attend the Mardi Gras murder mystery dinner in the University of Maine Presque Isle Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). The event is free for the UMPI community.
