Courses offered in the Art Department help develop a student’s passion for creativity and scholarship into a valuable combination of visual, research, perceptual, and conceptual skills that are increasingly in demand in the 21st century workplace.
There are a range of traditional art-related professions that Art majors might pursue after graduation such as Art teacher, gallerist, museum educator, or graphic designer. Additionally, more and more business opportunities are available for employees who can design, create and analyze visual imagery across a variety of fields. Art students are trained to become creative specialists with the ability to see, think, share, invent, and problem-solve in the quickly-evolving communities and workplaces of our time. UMA students build skills and expertise to sculpt their own futures.
