The Academic Success division connects UMA students to the resources they need to succeed. We offer services in Augusta (Katz 48), Bangor (Eastport Hall) and online at umasuccess@maine.edu.
Accessibility Services
We facilitate accommodations for students with disabilities. Professional staff collaborate with students to determine appropriate accommodations. Staff advocates for students to ensure effective implementation of accommodations, including adaptive technology, to ensure equal access to courses and campus programs.
Academic Success Coaching
Individualized peer or professional success coaching helps students improve areas such as: organizational skills, time-management, motivation, balancing life/school/work, scholarship help, and/or post-grad planning.
Tutoring
Tutoring is available for most developmental and introductory courses and some upper-level courses. It is provided in individual or small group settings by qualified community or peer tutors. Web-tutoring is available through NetTutor when peer or professional tutoring is not available.
