Guy has been in the behavioral health field since 1983. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent & a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland. He has lived and practiced in Italy, Scotland & the US having worked in school-based, community-based, residential, and hospital-based services working with adults, children, adolescents, couples & families. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. Guy is the former Director of the State of Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services and served as the Single State Authority for Substance Abuse Services and Mental Health Services for many years. He is also the Director of the Medical Professionals Health Program assisting medical professionals whose practice may be affected by mental health, substance use, and behavioral issues. Guy serves on various Boards and Commissions; The Substance Use Disorder Services Commission; the Maine Council on Problem Gambling; and Kennebec Behavioral Health’s Program and Services Board. In his spare time, Guy coaches tennis at a local high school. |
