Lauren Shapiro

Lauren joined the admissions team in 2024 as a recent graduate of Radford University, where she earned a degree in Sociology with a minor in Communications. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in the admissions department, giving tours and participating in recruitment events, and held a teaching and research assistant position within her department. Additionally, she served as the secretary of the Sociology Club during her senior year. Lauren is excited to bring her experience to the University of Maine at Augusta.

In her role, Lauren collaborates with the admissions team to schedule tours, organize events, and oversee digital engagement with prospective students. When she’s not at UMA, she enjoys immersing herself in the world of video games. Originally from Virginia, Lauren is also a fan of New England sports teams and is hopeful that her fantasy football team will claim the crown this year.
