Bio

As part of her duties in student support, Sherrie is a Lecturer teaching COL 100 Introduction to the College Experience and COL 123 Learning and the College Community. Prior, she worked as a 7-12 English teacher. Sherrie has worked for UMA as a Workforce Development Specialist with New Ventures Maine and as a Student Support Specialist since 2015. Sherrie uses her NVM background to conduct workshops and activities for learners in economic literacy and career development. She enjoys supporting students from diverse backgrounds, including justice-impacted students at UMA. Sherrie also instructs online English and U.S. History courses for Multilingual Learners in Taiwan.

As a hobby, Sherrie shares her passion for self-discovery, learning, and travel in her role as a yoga instructor. She completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2022 and has attended five yoga retreats in Costa Rica and the Bahamas since 2020. Sherrie brings a spirit of openness and a practice of mindfulness to all of the courses she facilitates.
