Bio |
I am a social psychologist whose work examines the structure of attitudes and ideologies, and how those structures affect prejudice and intergroup behaviors. I joined the Social Science Program faculty at UMA in 2022 and teach a variety of courses in Psychology (PSY). My courses emphasize students’ agency in their education and utilize applied content to teach students how psychological principles impact their personal and professional lives. My current research extends across several areas within the psychology of attitudes and intergroup relations. My primary line of research examines how tertiary attitude structures (dogmatism, attitude certainty, ideological complexity, etc.) affect prejudice amongst ideological groups (i.e., political and religious groups). A secondary line of research of mine is investigating the nature and genesis of moderate political identities. Publications [see CV for full list of publications and conference papers] |
