Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. Check with Financial Aid if you are not sure if you have Work Study Funds approved for the 2024-25 academic year.

Are you looking for a part-time work study job that’s flexible, easy to incorporate into your class schedule, relaxed, and fun? Consider working for UMA Libraries as a Circulation Assistant! We have open positions for work study students in both Augusta (Katz Library) and Bangor (Nottage Library).
Job responsibilities include: Checking books in and out to patrons, maintaining library spaces, assisting in coordination of room reservations, customer service including answering the phone and answering general patron questions. Up to 10 hours/week.

The UMA VAWLT is seeking writing tutors! Job responsibilities include:
- Work with students, staff, and faculty to support writing and research at any stage in the process.
- Receive paid training in writing pedagogy and distance education technology, and join a virtual team of tutors who provide guidance for supporting writers.
- Learn to provide inductive feedback by asking questions and by sharing links to tutorials addressing grammar and format concerns.
- Help writers to brainstorm new and expanded ideas, using UMS libraries and referring writers to campus librarians.
- Work on additional special projects as requested.
- Maintain records and confidentiality for each writer tutored by logging service.
- Work 5-10 hours per week, maintain a 3.0 GPA (3.5 GPA in major), and pass an interview and diagnostic exam.
