Professor Kay Retzlaff, English, has published Duet, a collaboration with artist Susan Camp. Duet is a collection of poems and photographs that explores how we see what we see and asks us to question our perceptions of reality. The exhibit is currently hanging at the Belfast Free Library. Dr. Retzlaff did a poetry reading there, Monday, 7 November. It will move to UMA’s Handley Building in December.
On November 16, at 2 p.m., Dr. Retzlaff will present “The ABC’s of Irish Belfast,” the Wawenoc Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society, at the Belfast Free Library. She will be discussing Redefining Irishness in a Coastal Maine City, 1770–1870: Bridget’s Belfast, her book published earlier this year by Routledge. The book looks at the Irish immigrants to Belfast over the course of a century.
