
UMA QUEBEC TRAVEL COURSE INFORMATION SESSION
FRE/HUM 285: Quebec travel course: Exploring the Culture, Cuisine, and Language of Quebec
Tuesday, March 25th 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. on Zoom
Come learn about the language, culture, history and cuisine of Quebec in this hands on, experiential course! We are holding an information session to answer your questions and tell you more. The course will run in Summer Session I and we will travel for 6 nights to Quebec (May 24-30th). You do not need any experience with the course subject matter or the language to take this course.
Note: you will need a passport or passport card to participate in this course and should start that process right away. YOU DO NOT NEED EXPERIENCE IN FRENCH TO TAKE THIS COURSE.
Planned activities include: touring Vieux Quebec/Old Quebec, taking a cooking class on Quebec cuisine, a tour of the Island of Orleans, an Inuit Night Walk with one of Canada’s First Nations, and a visit to Montmorency Falls.
FRE 103: Conversational French for Beginners and Beyond has the theme of Quebec for this Spring 2025 course, which begins the week of March 24th. The class is Zoom synchronous on Thursdays 4-5:20 p.m. for 7 weeks. You can take this class separately, or as part of the preparation for the travel course to Quebec!
