Both the Nottage and Katz Libraries are seeking Library Circulation Assistants for Spring 2025 for 8-10 hours/week.

The Circulation Assistant is the first point of contact for library patrons. Their primary responsibilities are to check books in and out to patrons, re-shelve and pull books from the library shelves, and provide excellent customer service to patrons. Circulation Assistants are also responsible for the general upkeep of library spaces, helping manage room reservations, answering phone calls, and performing library opening and closing duties.

Seeking a TRIO Peer provide student to student guidance to new and at risk students.

10 hours a week as work study allows.

Must have a good academic record and a GPA of 2.5 or better.

IT needs assistance Monday – Friday for Summer, Fall, and Spring Semesters. During the hours of 8am-4:30pm on the Augusta campus.

Students are responsible for performing semi-complex computer-related and/or technical work using specialized skills and knowledge. Students use a low to moderate level of independent judgment and initiative under direct supervision.

Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Answers the telephone;
  • Provides assistance to users;
  • Evaluates existing computer systems;
  • Assists in installations, integrations and configurations of equipment;
  • Answers technical questions.

Requirements (may include, but not limited to):

  • Exhibits extensive knowledge of computer software — specifics depend on department
  • Has the ability and willingness to learn new applications and technologies
  • Specific skill sets depend on department and projects assigned
  • Shows general customer service skills

The UMA Bangor Writing Center is seeking writing tutors.

In-person and zoom sessions to assist students with writing assignments.

Duties include staffing the writing center during walk-in hours; helping students with papers and other writing assignments. This might include discussion of assignments, how to do peer-reviewed research, brainstorming ideas, and teaching different approaches to writing.

The expected hours for this position are weekday mornings, especially Mondays and Tuesdays 9am-12 or 10am to 1pm.

The Bangor Fitness Center is seeking Assistants!

  • Greet, check-in members and verify their membership
  • Answer question from walk-in customers and phone calls
  • Register prospective members and sell Memberships and Day Passes

The UMA ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE III supports the Welcome Center and the Campus Dean’s office and reports directly to the Administrative Specialist CL2 within the Welcome Center.

Assigned duties include, but are not limited to:

The UMA Ellsworth Center is seeking Office Assistants.

Duties:

  • Greeting students and the public as they enter the Center and having them sign-in at the reception desk.
  • Answering telephone, screening calls, and assisting students with questions at the reception window.
  • Referring students to appropriate staff.
  • Assisting students with computer use including how to use MaineStreet and Brightspace, how to use student email, how to connect personal computers to the Center’s wireless system, and troubleshooting printing problems.
  • Photocopying and faxing as needed.
  • Assisting office staff with routine filing and computer work.
  • Proctoring examinations.
  • Light cleaning.

Hours are flexible within the Center’s regular open schedule; Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
