The office of Academic Success and the Office of Academic and Career Advising are excited to announce the launch of the Academic Success referral through Navigate!
The Office of Academic Success assists students with Accessibility Services, Academic Coaching, and Tutoring. The role of the Academic Success referral is to get students connected with the people and resources they need quickly and efficiently. To that end, the referral aids in the removal of barriers and anxieties students can face when they need help but do not know who or how to ask for that help.
How it works: With prior student consent, UMA faculty and staff can submit an Academic Success referral on a student’s behalf via Navigate. Once the referral is submitted, Kristin McLaren, the Director of Academic Success, will assign the case to the appropriate service(s) and staff member(s). The staff member(s) will then reach out to the student to discuss the student’s needs, provide resources and information, and schedule an appointment.
