Sarah Hentges, Associate Professor of American Studies, published a co-edited essay collection: Teaching Girls on Fire: Essays on Dystopian Young Adult Literature in the Classroom. She co-wrote the introduction as well as a chapter, authored with three M.A. students she worked with as a Fulbright in Denmark. She also wrote the conclusion: ‘[Girls on Fire]: Tear This Wall Down!’ International and Imaginative Contexts for Teaching Girls on Fire.
The essay collection also included an essay written by UMA alumni, Tessa Pyles, a recent PhD graduate at Bowling Green State University in American Cultural Studies: On Teaching Girls Who Want to Burn: The problems and Possibilities of Feminist Education.
