Seeking Library Advisory Committee Members!

Join the UMA Library Advisory Council!

The UMA Libraries are excited to announce the formation of a Library Advisory Committee (LAC), and we invite students, staff, and faculty to be part of this important initiative! This committee will meet a few times a year by Zoom and will serve as a bridge between the library and the university community, ensuring that our library services, resources, and programs meet the evolving needs of UMA.

Why Join?

  • Influence the direction of library services and resources
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of campus stakeholders
  • Represent the voices and needs of students, staff, or faculty
  • Contribute to enhancing the library’s role in supporting learning, research, and campus life

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for engaged members of the UMA community—whether you’re a student passionate about improving library spaces, a faculty member interested in academic resources, or a staff member with ideas on service improvements—your voice matters!

How to Apply: If you’re interested in shaping the future of UMA Libraries, we encourage you to contact Cynthia Kitchin at cynthia.kitchin@maine.edu by Friday, October 11th.

Together, we can make UMA Libraries an even better place for learning, research, and community connection.
