President Cushman is delighted to announce that UMA will be instituting “UMA Spirit Fridays” beginning Friday, October 4. This is a variation of “casual Fridays” in which those who would like to dress casually across the university are encouraged to wear UMA-branded apparel.
The UMA Spirit Store on the Augusta campus is offering a 20% discount on UMA branded apparel for faculty, staff, and students from September 30 – October 4.
For all Spirit Fridays in the Fall 2024 semester, the Moose Tracks Cafe on the Augusta campus will offer a free hot coffee if you wear your UMA swag.

UMA Spirit Fridays Guidelines
General Guidelines
- Clothing should be neat and clean.
- Consider layering for comfort.
- Dress appropriately for any meetings or events that may occur.
Suggested Attire
- Tops: Polo shirts, casual blouses, and nice t-shirts (no offensive graphics or slogans).
- Bottoms: Jeans (no rips), khakis, chinos, or casual skirts/dresses.
To Avoid
- Sweatpants or gym shorts.
- Torn or distressed clothing.
- Any clothing with offensive language or imagery.
- Beachwear or excessively revealing outfits.
