Jordan G Shaw, M.Div., LCPC, NCC, is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, licensed in the State of Maine and is currently the Interim Coordinator of Counseling and Wellness and the Clinician and Case Management Coordinator at the University of Maine at Augusta. He holds an Interdisciplinary Individualized Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Religion from the University of Maine at Farmington, a Master of Divinity from Bangor Theological Seminary, where he focused his course work on Sexual Ethics and Pastoral Care, a Master of Science in Counseling, with a Specialization in Family Systems work, from the University of Southern Maine. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision at National Louis University in Tampa, Florida, where his research focuses on relationships.
He is the founder of the University of Maine at Augusta Counseling Laboratory, a formal training for Clinical Mental Health Counseling students from CACREP-accredited programs completing their Practicum and Internship experience, with a special focus on providing supervision to graduate students who wish to work with couples, families, and individuals from a systemic lens. Jordan is also a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Maine, where he teaches courses covering professional ethics and counseling skills in the Counselor Education program. In the 2019-2020 academic year, he was named a Clinical Fellow at the University of Southern Maine while completing his internship experience at the Maine Children’s Home. He is a Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling National Honor Society member, which recognizes students, faculty, and professionals for their commitment to clinical practice, leadership, and scholarship.
In his free time, Jordan enjoys cycling, music, traveling, playing with Casper and Stella (his almost 5-year-old Jackabee and 2-year-old German Shepherd), and spending time with his family and friends.
