Credit for Prior Learning (CPL): Getting Credit For What You Know

We recognize that college-level learning doesn’t always occur in the classroom. We understand that the skills and knowledge you have acquired may have come through learning in the office, in the military, or through various other life activities. Through transfer credit, testing, portfolios and credential reviews, you may have the opportunity to earn college credits more efficiently and at a reduced cost.
This session will help you:
- Define college-level learning.
- Reflect on your own areas of expertise and draw conclusions about whether your accomplishments of these areas constitute college level learning.
- Learn about potential pathways to earn academic credit.

Landing the perfect job can be a challenge, but with the determination and passion you will need to begin a successful career, you can easily overcome this challenge, and bring a lot of valuable experience with you to the next interview if you don’t get the job. Just a little preparation and thought ahead of time can have wondrous effects on your interviewing skills.
This session will help you:
- Understand how to verbally and non-verbally communicate effectively in an interview.
- Learn and practice how to answer challenging interview questions.
- Gain frameworks to structure thoughts and answers to common interview questions.

The Student Institute (SI) is an opportunity for students who have completed at least one college semester to create a personalized plan for getting the most out of their college experience in relation to their career and life goals.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in small discussion groups with students, advisors, and faculty to begin building their personal network and creating an individualized action plan.
As a participant, you will:
