Students in this certificate program will gain education specific to the responsibilities of contemporary public sector management within the criminal justice professions. Topics will include Principles of Management and Comparative International Justice Issues. As a stand-alone credential or as an addition to an A.S. or B.S. degree, this certificate will enhance your management skills and career development.
Required Courses »This program is designed for those who provide direct services to youth in group homes, residential treatment, shelters, juvenile corrections, foster care, community outreach support programs and other youth-focused programs. Graduates will gain an understanding of professionalism, cultural and human diversity, applied human development, family systems, the impacts of trauma, communication skills, boundaries, and assessment skills.

The certificate in Information Systems Security will allow students to acquire and apply various methods, tools, technologies, and processes to help secure an organization.
Required Courses »UMA offers the only accredited Dental Assisting Certificate program in Maine. The program is designed to prepare students for careers as clinical dental assistants with externship experiences included in the educational requirements.
Dental Assistants are in high demand with a particular need for formally trained clinicians. Graduates of the program will be well versed in infection control, dental radiology, dental materials, chairside dental assisting, administrative procedures and patient management. Students are eligible to apply to the Maine Board of Dental Practice for dental radiology licensure and to take the Dental Assisting National Board to become a Certified Dental Assistant immediately upon successful completion of the program.
