The fall semester quickly approaching, and we’d like to remind you of the many wonderful resources available to the UMA Community.
MyUMA Portal
The MyUMA portal is your single sign-on access point to all of your electronic resources at UMA, including MaineStreet, your University email, Brightspace, and other student resources and information. You will also find UMS student announcements and the UMA Events Calendar on the MyUMA portal.
UMA Alerts
UMA has a variety of means to notify you of emergencies and storm closings.
Emergency and storm closing information for the UMA Augusta and Bangor Campuses will be sent out via text message and email via UMA Alerts. Anyone with an “@maine.edu” email address is automatically signed up to receive these notices. If you want to opt-out or to manage this account, go to my.uma.edu and click on the red triangle (pictured). Please review and update your contact information to be sure you receive important emergency and weather notifications. More info about UMA Alerts.
Additionally, you can always find information on campus closures and emergency information on the MyUMA portal, by calling 1-877-UMA-1234, or through announcements on many local radio and TV stations.
PLEASE NOTE: UMA Alerts will only inform you of closings and other emergency information on UMA’s Augusta and Bangor campuses. Weather and emergency alert information from UMA Centers will be available on each UMA Center home page.

We’re here to help you set yourself up for success in the fall semester. The Tech Hub is your place to find
- Support, tutorials, and documentation for Brightspace;

Tutoring is intended to help students increase their understanding of course material, and improve their learning and study skills. Tutoring is available for most developmental and introductory courses as well as some upper-level courses. It is provided in individual or small group settings by qualified community or peer tutors.
All UMA writing centers (Augusta, Bangor, and Online) will offer synchronous and asynchronous virtual consultations during the Fall 2022 semester. You may request a Zoom session online and at any UMA location by email, or submit a draft for written feedback within two business days.
